BASIS San Antonio is seeking qualified candidates for a Math Teacher to start for the 2020/21 school year!

The role of the Math Teacher (SET) is to ensure the day-to-day exceptional education of students by preparing and facilitating subject specific lesson plans. Subject Expert Teachers implement the established BASIS Curriculum while tailoring specific topics to integrate their knowledge and passion for the subject.

Job Duties:

  1. Teach students in one or more subjects in public or private schools at the middle, intermediate, or junior high level.
  2. Teach Calculus AB (AP course) and Pre-Calculus A
  3. Prepare students to take the AP exams for Calculus AB conducted by the college board
  4. Offer student support hours after school
  5. Coach the Mathcount team and prepare students for the Mathleague competitions that are held in the state of Texas.

Salary: Available upon request

Work Schedule: 40 hours/week (Hours Vary)

Job Requirements:

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Education or related

Experience Requirements: 12 months of experience in job offered, or high school math teacher, or closely related.

Special skills requirements:

  1. Experience teaching Pre-Calculus to high school students
  2. Experience preparing students for the Central Board of Secondary Education 12th grade board exams
  3. Experience managing middle school and high school classroom behavior
  4. Experience matching instructional methods to kinesthetic/audio/visual learner types
  5. Experience tutoring and coaching student participation in extracurricular mathematics competitions and exams
