Student Information Systems Administrator

Office:BASIS.ed Scottsdale Office
Location:Scottsdale, AZ

The Student Information System Administrator’s primary role is to work with school personnel in assisting with the student information system. In addition to working with the school personnel, this role is responsible for performing year-end tasks and new school year setup. The Student Information System Administrator will also work on projects within the department as assigned.

Primary Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform year-end system rollover to include: state reporting rollover, moving school year grades to course history
  • New school year setup to include: new year setup, new school setup
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and/or training for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions
  • Prepare documentation for the purpose of conveying training information to school personnel
  • Respond to inquiries from various school personnel (staff, administrators, teachers, etc.) for the purpose of providing technical assistance, advise, and support
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions of student information system for the purpose of resolving operational issues and restoring services
  • Train school end-users on student information system functionality
  • Work with school staff to ensure report cards, transcripts, and honor rolls are accurate and disseminated in a timely manner
  • Training and troubleshooting related to gradebook (work directly with teachers in some situations)
  • Plan and coordinate various projects related to upgrades and patches to PowerSchool and other applications as necessary.
  • Define project objectives for other departmental projects
  • Identify, assess and minimize risk by defining all scopes of project
  • Prepare testing phases of project throughout project life cycle

Job Qualifications:

Key Competencies:

  • High level of proficiency using Excel and Word 2013
  • Organized, Problem Solver, Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with Student Information Systems
  • Experience with Pearson PowerSchool

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years in working with a student information system
  • Technical or Associates Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with SharePoint 2013
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • HTML experience
