BASIS Curriculum Schools is a network comprised of public charter schools and independent schools in the U.S., and international schools overseas. Our network defines excellent outcomes for students in global terms, delivered by passionate, subject-expert teachers and the high-achieving BASIS Curriculum.
Public Charter Schools
BASIS.ed manages all of the BASIS charter schools within the BASIS Curriculum Schools network. The campuses managed by BASIS.ed include some of the highest-performing schools in the United States. Each of them is an open enrollment, tuition-free public charter school, and they are located in Arizona, Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
BASIS Independent Schools manages private schools utilizing the BASIS Curriculum in major metropolitan areas across the United States. There are five BASIS Independent campuses within the BASIS Curriculum Schools network: two in New York City -- in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and Manhattan's Upper West Side; two in Silicon Valley, California -- in San Jose and Fremont; and one in McLean, Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C.
BASIS Overseas Educational Services (BOES) provides school opening services for BASIS International Schools across China. Currently, there are 4 operating schools in China: in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Huizhou, with more schools scheduled to open every year. BASIS International Educational Holdings (BIEH) opens and manages BASIS International Schools outside of China. BIEH currently manages BASIS Beginners, a new Pre-K through Kindergarten program in Prague, Czech Republic, and will be opening a Pre-K through 5th grade campus in Bangkok, Thailand in 2019.
Our teachers are subject experts and passionate educators.
The subject-expert teachers at BASIS Curriculum Schools have degrees in their field. Many have advanced degrees (but don't necessarily have a teaching license). Since many have spent their adult lives studying a subject they love, they're passionate about what they teach. That passion is channeled to and instilled in our students.
Our schools are among the best in the world.
Our institutions are listed among the nation’s best by any measure -- national rankings, AP and PISA/OECD testing, National Merit Scholarships, or college admissions and merit aid -- because we treat the classroom as sacrosanct, and teach students to love learning. The average BASIS Curriculum student not only outperforms the typical U.S. student, but also scores higher than peers in Canada, Finland, Japan, Shanghai, and Singapore, where schools are among the world's best.
The BASIS Curriculum fuels content mastery via creative thinking and problem-solving.
The high achieving BASIS Curriculum culminating in the BASIS Diploma prepares students to be participants, not spectators, in the 21st-century world of commerce and innovation. Every grade focuses on core skills including the understanding and organization of complex tasks, and the effective management and utilization of time.
